whenever I think off ddos attacks I picture this in my head

A fat insecure stupid ass prick douchebag white 14 year old kid that is in a basement in his 4 day old underwear laughing while eating an ice cream cone or having a raging boner cause they were mad at something, while also ddosing somebody because they got them mad and then flood their internet with packets, which by the way if you have a router with firewall it doesn't work, while they think they are «hackers»

Thats what I picture :P

Allright let me tell you something.
I know much about DDoS and stuff.
But LOIC and HOIC none of them is DDoS.
They are DoS which uses your own internet connection and IP to DoS.
And it is not strong to take down a real good website or home connection.

DDoS is more connections over the whole world more IP's and a BotNet that controls them.
If you attack with the BotNet it uses all those IP's to attack 1 IP.
And it really stresses it out and it will just go down.
Because it is more IP's it's very hard to stop and block and how much more Bots you have much stronger it is.
DDoS mesures with MBPS and GBPS. (… Bites Per Shot)

Now that was some quick information about DDoS.

i just got DDos twice in a row just for playing a game!!! WHY… my family wont let me play the game i was playing… why does this have to happen to me… i didn't do anything wrong

DDoS protection can be possible through a Protected IP or Dedicated IP as well, i learn this on PureVPN blog
